OUR MISSIONThe Independent Authors League is being developed to recognize, encourage, and support independent authors in a new era of publishing. Our goal is to create a welcoming platform where emerging writers, illustrators, and storytellers can gain recognition, share their work, connect with others, and grow through meaningful opportunities. |
Who It’s ForThe Independent Authors League is being developed for first-time authors, self-published writers, independent publishers, illustrators, and creative storytellers from many different backgrounds. We welcome creators of children’s books, novels, science fiction, comics, poetry, memoirs, educational books, nonfiction, coloring books, activity books, and other original projects. Whether you create through traditional methods, digital publishing tools, or responsible AI-assisted technology, your finished work deserves to be evaluated for its quality, creativity, originality, presentation, and impact. |
What to ExpectThe Independent Authors League is being developed as more than just a place to display book covers. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for independent authors to be seen, recognized, and connected. Members can look forward to author spotlights, book promotion, community features, networking opportunities, helpful publishing information, and future recognition programs and awards. We are starting from the ground up, listening to authors, building interest, and developing the League step by step. Recognition. Community. Opportunity. |
Our PromiseThe Independent Authors League believes that creativity should not be limited by the tools an author chooses to use. We do not judge authors by which tools they use. We judge the quality, creativity, originality, presentation, and impact of the finished work. We welcome traditional writing, digital publishing, professional design, illustration, photography, and responsible AI assisted technology. Every submission must still be original, properly presented, and legally owned or authorized by the person submitting it. The work speaks for itself. |
Recognition and Future AwardsThe Independent Authors League is being developed to create meaningful recognition for independent authors and their finished work. Future programs may include book awards, author spotlights, featured titles, digital certificates, official award seals, interviews, promotional opportunities, and special recognition for first-time and emerging authors. Awards will be based on clear standards such as creativity, originality, presentation, audience value, and overall impact. Recognition will not simply be purchased. Every submitted book must earn its place. We plan to begin with a limited number of carefully selected categories and expand as the League grows. Every author deserves a chance to step up to the plate. Every book must earn its recognition. |

How the League Will WorkThe Independent Authors League will be developed step by step to ensure that the program remains organized, fair, and valuable to participating authors. Authors will eventually be able to submit their books for selected categories, author spotlights, promotional features, and future award opportunities. Each submission will be reviewed according to clear standards, including creativity, originality, presentation, audience value, category relevance, and overall impact. The League will welcome books created through traditional methods, digital publishing tools, and responsible AI assisted technology. Authors must have the legal right to submit their work and must provide accurate information about their books. Submission fees, award categories, judging procedures, deadlines, and recognition benefits will be clearly explained before the official launch. Clear standards. Honest recognition. Equal opportunity. |
Meet the FounderThe Independent Authors League is being developed by Victor Hawk Barriga, author, creator, and founder of E-Hawk Publishing and E-Hawk Generation. After experiencing the challenges of independent publishing firsthand, Victor understands how difficult it can be for new authors to find trustworthy information, receive recognition, and make informed decisions about publishing their work. He has created and published books across many genres, including children’s books, educational titles, coloring and activity books, comics, business guides, and science fiction. His goal is not to publish books for other people, but to use his experience to encourage authors, share helpful information, promote independent creativity, and help protect new writers from misleading promises and unnecessary expenses. The Independent Authors League is being built from the ground up with one central belief: Independent authors deserve a fair opportunity to be seen, respected, and recognized. |
